Overview
Welcome to Peace of Mind by Design ("Peace of Mind by Design," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of thepeaceofmindbydesign.com and everything we publish or sell under the Peace of Mind by Design brand. This includes our website, newsletters, free and paid digital products, tools and calculators, mobile or web applications, live programs and cohorts, one-on-one coaching, communities, and any related content or services (together, the "Services").
By using the Services, purchasing a product, or subscribing to our list, you agree to these Terms. If you're accepting on behalf of a household, business, or organization, you confirm you're authorized to bind it. If you don't agree, please don't use the Services.
We keep this document plain-spoken on purpose. It's still a contract. Read it once.
Privacy
Our collection and use of your personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, available at thepeaceofmindbydesign.com/privacy-policy. The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Services, you agree to the practices described there.
Educational Purpose: Not Financial, Legal, or Tax Advice
Peace of Mind by Design publishes educational content and personal-finance frameworks based on our own household experience. We are not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, CPA, tax preparer, attorney, or fiduciary. Nothing on this site, in our products, in any tool or calculator we provide, in our emails, in our cohorts or coaching, or in any other Service is personalized financial, investment, tax, legal, accounting, or insurance advice.
Our tools and content offer general information and mathematical projections based on the inputs you provide. They do not know your full financial picture, your tax situation, your risk tolerance, your health, your job stability, or your goals. Projections are hypothetical, may not reflect actual results, and past performance is never a guarantee of future performance.
Before making any financial decision, consult a licensed professional who understands your specific situation. Any action you take based on our content is your decision and your responsibility.
Tools, Calculators & Results Disclaimer
Any tools, calculators, simulators, or projections we offer (free or paid) run mathematical models using the inputs you provide. They are educational aids, not personalized advice, and they do not know your full financial picture. Outputs, including any reports, dashboards, or downloadable results, are hypothetical and may not reflect actual outcomes.
Any story we tell about our own results describes our specific household. It is not a promise, projection, or guarantee for yours. Your results will vary based on your income, expenses, market conditions, discipline, timing, and factors outside anyone's control. We make no earnings claims, no return claims, and no timelines for your situation.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to purchase or use the Services. By using the Services, you represent that you meet this requirement or are using the Services with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf. The Services are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your Account, Purchases & Payment
Some Services require an account, email signup, or purchase. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your login credentials secure. You're responsible for activity that happens under your account.
Payments are processed by our third-party processors (currently Stripe and, where applicable, Kajabi, Stan Store, or another platform). By purchasing, you authorize the applicable charge and any recurring charges disclosed at checkout. Prices, product contents, and availability may change at any time. Sales tax may apply.
For subscription products, your subscription renews automatically at the then-current price and billing cadence disclosed at checkout until you cancel. You can cancel anytime through your account or by emailing support@thepeaceofmindbydesign.com; cancellation stops future charges but does not refund the current period unless required by law or covered by our refund policy below.
Refunds
All sales are final. Because of the nature of what we sell, refunds are handled as follows.
- Paid digital products (downloadable guides, toolkits, worksheets, courses, templates, and similar): Non-refundable. These products are delivered instantly and become fully accessible at the moment of purchase. Once downloaded or accessed, the material cannot be returned or retracted by Peace of Mind by Design.
- Live programs, cohorts, accelerators, and one-on-one coaching: Refundable only before the program begins. If you enroll and the program has not yet started, you may request a refund by emailing support@thepeaceofmindbydesign.com before your start date. Once the cohort, accelerator, or coaching relationship has begun, all payments are final and non-refundable, in whole or in part, regardless of attendance, completion, or continued participation.
- Subscription products (apps, memberships, and ongoing services): Cancel anytime to stop future billing. Amounts already charged for the current billing period are non-refundable.
- Free products (lead magnets, reports, newsletters, and other complimentary resources): No refunds apply because nothing was paid.
Specific refund terms for any individual product will always be disclosed at checkout and, where different from the above, control. We reserve the right to decline refund requests in cases of clear abuse, including repeated buy-refund cycles, resale, or bulk downloads.
International Buyers — Digital Content Consent
If you are purchasing from the European Union, United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction that provides a statutory right to withdraw from digital content purchases, before you complete your purchase we will disclose to you that you are about to lose your withdrawal right, and you will separately confirm at checkout that: (a) you want immediate access to the digital content, (b) you understand you will lose your right of withdrawal once download or access begins, and (c) you expressly consent to this loss of withdrawal right in exchange for immediate delivery. Upon completing your purchase, we will send you an email confirmation documenting this consent and acknowledgment, which you should retain for your records. This consent is required to complete your purchase and is in addition to, not a replacement for, the checkout acknowledgment itself.
This consent addresses only the statutory withdrawal (cooling-off) right. It does not limit any other consumer protection you may have under your local law, including remedies for digital content that is faulty, materially not as described, or does not perform as represented.
License to Use Our Content & Products
When you purchase or download a Peace of Mind by Design product, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use it for your own personal, non-commercial financial planning and education. That's it.
You may not:
- Resell, sublicense, share, forward, upload, or redistribute any of our paid or free content.
- Reproduce our worksheets, templates, guides, PDFs, videos, or app content in any product, course, coaching offer, newsletter, or community you sell or promote.
- Use our content to train, fine-tune, or ground any machine-learning or AI model.
- Remove our branding, watermarks, or copyright notices.
- Claim authorship of our proprietary frameworks, methodologies, or product names.
Coaches, educators, and financial professionals: if you'd like to reference or teach our frameworks with attribution, email hello@thepeaceofmindbydesign.com. We're generally open to it with a written license.

Community, Cohorts & User Conduct
If you join a cohort, community, comment section, or any live event, you agree to:
- Keep it respectful. No harassment, hate speech, doxxing, or threats.
- Keep it confidential. What's shared in the room stays in the room. Do not screenshot, record, or repost other participants' personal financial details.
- Keep it legal. No promoting get-rich-quick schemes, unlicensed advice, illegal activity, or spam.
- Keep it yours. Don't impersonate anyone, and don't share your seat with someone who didn't pay.
We reserve the right to remove content, revoke access, or terminate accounts without refund for material violations.
Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to any Service, account, or community at any time, with or without notice, for violation of these Terms, non-payment, abuse of our refund or license terms, or conduct we reasonably believe harms us, other users, or the Services. Termination for cause does not entitle you to a refund of amounts already paid. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination including the license restrictions, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law provisions survive.
Third-Party Tools & Links
Our Services rely on and may link to third-party platforms (Stripe, Kajabi, ConvertKit/Mailerkit, Framer, Squarespace, Skool, Stan Store, Google, and others). Their terms and privacy policies govern your use of their services, not ours. We're not responsible for third-party content, outages, or practices.
"As Is" and No Warranties
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available." We do our best to keep them accurate, secure, and running, but we make no warranties, express or implied, about accuracy, completeness, uptime, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or non-infringement. Financial content ages fast; always verify current numbers, tax rules, and rates with a qualified professional before acting on anything.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Peace of Mind by Design, its founders, employees, contractors, and affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost savings, missed investment returns, tax liability, emotional distress, or business interruption, arising from or related to your use of the Services, even if we've been advised of the possibility.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim or (b) $100 USD.
Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits; in that case, the limits apply to the maximum extent permitted. You agree to indemnify and hold Peace of Mind by Design harmless from claims arising out of your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Services, or content you post in our communities.
Payments, Updates & Support
We may update these Terms, our products, our pricing, or the Services from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top and, when significant, email subscribers. Your continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

We're a small team, so please allow up to two business days for a reply.
Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Tarrant County, Texas, and you consent to that jurisdiction and venue. You and Peace of Mind by Design each waive any right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Miscellaneous
Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any product-specific terms disclosed at checkout, are the entire agreement between you and Peace of Mind by Design regarding the Services, and supersede any prior agreements.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will stay in full effect.
No Waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets.
Force Majeure. We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance due to causes beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, internet or platform outages, or acts of government.
Notices. We may provide notices to you via email, posting on the Services, or other reasonable means. Notices to us should be sent to the email addresses listed in "Contact Us" below.
